Who qualifies
People who live in SCLARC's area and have, or may have, a developmental disability (autism, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, or a closely related '5th category' condition) that began before age 18. Children under 3 with delays go through Early Start; children 3-4 may qualify provisionally. No income requirement to apply.

Apply online at intake.sclarc.org (separate forms for under 3, provisional ages 3-4, and 3 and older), or call (213) 744-7000. Have medical records, school IEPs or evaluations ready if you have them.
What it is
SCLARC is the state-funded regional center for South LA, Compton and nearby cities. It assesses children and adults for developmental disabilities like autism, and for people who qualify it coordinates and pays for services such as behavior therapy (ABA), respite and other supports at no cost to the family. Each family gets a service coordinator and a written plan.
