What we collect, why, who sees it, and how to get it changed or deleted. Written to be read.

LAST UPDATED OCTOBER 9, 2026

EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 9, 2026

The short version: we collect what we need to run Knect, show you what you came for, and pay the people who make it. We do not sell your personal information for money. Ads help keep Knect free; you can turn off ads based on your activity, and we honor Global Privacy Control. You can see, correct, export and delete your information. Knect is for adults 18 and older in the United States.

California residents: our notice at collection is in sections 2 to 6 and section 17. To opt out of sharing for targeted advertising, use Your Privacy Choices. Washington and Nevada residents: see our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.

01

Who we are and what this covers

Knect is operated by SimpleTech Enterprises Inc. ("Knect", "we", "us"). This policy covers the Knect website (getknect.app), the Knect apps for iPhone and Android, the Knect channel on Roku, our API and MCP server, and the emails and notifications that come with them (the "Service"). It is part of our Terms of Service. The Cookie Policy and the Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy add detail and are part of it.

Businesses, creators and event organizers who sell or create on Knect are independent of us. When you deal with one, they receive some of your information (section 10) and handle it under their own policies. This policy does not cover other companies' sites or apps that Knect links to.

02

Information you give us

ACCOUNT AND PROFILE

Name, email address and password (stored by our sign-in provider as a hash), or Sign in with Apple where offered; your confirmation that you are 18 or older, and which version of the Terms you accepted and when; and, if you choose, a display name, handle, photo, cover image, bio, links, pronouns or identity tags you choose to show, language and interests.

VERIFIED ADDRESS

If you verify your address to unlock local and civic features, your street address and ZIP code. We use them to match your city and district and keep the address on your account; it is never shown publicly.

YOUR CONTENT

Posts, moments, comments, photos, videos, films, music, podcasts, live streams, reviews, ratings, poll votes, survey answers, group activity, event and business listings, and the people you tag.

MESSAGES

Messages you send to other people, groups, businesses and creators, and messages and reactions in live and viewing party chats.

ORDERS, BOOKINGS, RESERVATIONS, GUEST LISTS AND TICKETS

What you buy, book, reserve or join, from whom and when; delivery or pickup details (name, phone, address, instructions); party size; special requests; and any allergy note you add to an order.

SAVED ALLERGIES

If you choose "save for next time" at checkout, the allergy note you typed, so your next order is prefilled. This is consumer health data (section 18).

PAYMENTS

Your card details go directly to Stripe (or Apple, Google or Roku); we receive a reference to your payment method, the card brand and last four digits, billing ZIP where provided, and transaction records. We never store full card numbers.

GUEST CHECKOUT

Name, email, and for delivery a phone number and address, when you buy without an account.

FORMS YOU ANSWER FOR OTHERS

Your answers to a business's or creator's lead form, sign-up form, poll or survey, which go to the business or creator who asked.

SELLING, CREATING AND ADVERTISING

Business or channel details, listings, menus, products, prices, schedules, staff, media, campaigns and creatives, and your Stripe account reference and status (Stripe collects identity, tax and bank details directly).

PROGRAMS

Applications to creator or ambassador programs, work samples and, for a youth program, a parent or guardian's name, relationship and consent.

SUPPORT AND FEEDBACK

What you tell us when you contact us, report something, appeal a decision or answer a question we ask.

03

Information we collect as you use Knect

WATCHING AND LISTENING

Which titles, tracks, podcasts, stations and live streams you play, for how long and where you stopped, so playback resumes, views and plays are counted honestly and creators are paid for real plays. Playback quality data is sent to Mux Data, with your account id when signed in.

ACTIVITY

What you search for, follow, like, save, share, rate, RSVP to and buy; pages and screens you open; ads you see and tap; and the link or campaign that brought you.

INFERENCES

From your activity we build an interest profile (topics, genres, creators and businesses you seem to care about, and how strongly), used to recommend things and, if you allow it, to choose ads. You can see, export and clear it in Settings.

DEVICE AND CONNECTION

Browser or app version, device model, operating system, language, time zone, IP address, and crash and performance data.

IDENTIFIERS

Your account id; a random viewer id stored in your browser (the vk cookie) or created by the app or TV channel; a push token if you turn on notifications; on Roku, a hashed device id and, unless you limit ad tracking, the Roku advertising id (stored hashed); your Roku account's customer id for purchases; and wallet pass registrations if you add a pass.

AREA STAMPING

When you play something or see an ad, our servers attach your approximate area (county and city, derived from your verified address or your IP address) to the record. We look up the ZIP code only in passing and do not store the ZIP or your IP address with that record. Area totals are reported only for areas with enough viewers that no one can be singled out.

04

Location

PRECISE DEVICE LOCATION

Only if you allow it in your device or browser settings, and only while you use Knect (never in the background). Used to show what is near you (food trucks, events, businesses) and, if you allow personalized ads, to choose local ads. We round it to about 100 meters before storing it, use it for 12 hours, and keep the last one until it is replaced or you clear it. Under state laws this is precise geolocation, a sensitive category (section 18).

APPROXIMATE LOCATION

Your city, county, state and country, estimated from your IP address (through our host, Vercel) or your verified address.

VENDORS SERVING LIVE

A food truck that is serving can broadcast its vehicle's position. That is the vehicle's location, shared by the vendor, not yours.

ON ROKU

TVs have no GPS. Nearby features use your account's saved location or a ZIP code or city you type.

05

Camera, microphone, photos and face effects

PERMISSION FIRST

We use the camera, microphone and photo library only after you allow each in your device settings, and only while you use the feature that needs them: taking photos and videos, going live, scanning tickets and pickup codes, and adding photos you pick. We do not access your contacts. On iPhone, with your permission, we can add events you choose to your calendar; we do not read it.

FACE EFFECTS

Some camera effects in the iPhone app (such as glow, spotlight and hide face) find where a face is in the frame so the effect can follow it. This uses Apple's on-device face detection, which finds the outline of a face, not who it is. It does not create a faceprint, template or map of facial geometry, it does not identify anyone, and the face locations exist only in your phone's memory while the effect is drawn. They are never stored, uploaded or sent to Knect or anyone else. Only the finished photo or video you choose to post is uploaded.

06

Information from others

SIGN-IN PROVIDERS

If you use Sign in with Apple (or another provider where offered), your name and email (or Apple's private relay email) from that provider. On Roku, you may choose to share your Roku account's email and first name to fill in sign-up.

PAYMENT AND PLATFORM PARTNERS

Payment, refund and dispute status from Stripe; purchase records from Roku and app stores; fraud signals.

BUSINESSES, CREATORS AND OTHER USERS

Information others provide about you, for example when they tag you, mention you, add you to a guest list, record your visit or booking, add notes about you as a customer, invite you by email, or send you a gift or ticket.

INTEGRATIONS

Reservation, shipping and fulfillment status from the providers a business connects (for example OpenTable, Shippo and print-on-demand services).

PUBLIC SOURCES

For unclaimed business listings, business names, addresses, hours and photos from the businesses' own public websites and other public sources; and public civic information.

07

Cookies, SDKs and similar technology

Knect uses cookies on the website and similar storage in the apps and on Roku: essential ones for sign-in, security and preferences; measurement ones (our own attribution cookies and Google Analytics, which runs without cookies until you agree in the banner); and an anonymous viewer id for playback and ad frequency. The apps use no third-party advertising or analytics SDK; they send usage events to our servers, which may forward them to Google Analytics. The full list, with each cookie's purpose and lifetime, is in the Cookie Policy.

Do Not Track: there is no common standard for browser "Do Not Track" signals, so we do not respond to them. We do honor Global Privacy Control (section 17).

08

How we use information

PROVIDE THE SERVICE

Create and secure your account; stream what you play; process orders, bookings, reservations, guest lists and tickets; deliver messages and notifications; and show the right content, language and local information.

PAYMENTS AND PAYOUTS

Process payments and refunds; count real views and plays; attribute sales to the creator, sponsor or campaign that earned them; and calculate payouts.

PERSONALIZE

Recommend titles, music, creators, events and businesses and order your feed. You can turn personalization off.

ADVERTISE AND MEASURE

Choose and limit ads, measure impressions, clicks and resulting purchases, and report aggregate results to advertisers and sponsors (section 12).

COMMUNICATE

Send receipts, updates, reminders, security notices and replies, and, unless you opt out, marketing about Knect and updates from creators and businesses you follow.

SAFETY AND INTEGRITY

Detect and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, fake engagement and security incidents; moderate content; enforce our Terms; and protect users, partners and the public.

IMPROVE AND DEVELOP

Debug, analyze use, research, and build and train new features, including AI features, using de-identified or aggregated information where we can.

LEGAL

Comply with law, tax and accounting duties, respond to lawful requests, and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

09

What other people can see

PUBLIC

Your display name, handle, photo, bio and links; posts and comments you publish; reviews; who you follow and who follows you; and, if you verify your address, your district and verified badge. Your street address, ZIP code, email, phone and payment details are never shown.

ROOMS

A live stream is seen by everyone watching it, and what you send in a live or viewing party chat is seen by everyone in the room and the host.

PRIVATE

Your messages (to their recipients), ratings of titles, poll votes (results are shown in aggregate), RSVPs (shared with the organizer), watch and listen history, and saved allergies.

SEARCH ENGINES AND AI ASSISTANTS

Public pages can be indexed by search engines. Business and creator posts are available to AI assistants by default; a business or creator can turn that off in Settings.

10

Businesses, creators and organizers

When you deal with a business, creator or organizer on Knect, we disclose to them what they need to serve you, at your direction. They are independent and use it under their own policies; our Terms require them to use it only to serve you and to follow the law.

ORDERS, BOOKINGS AND TICKETS

Your name or display name, the order, booking or ticket, delivery or pickup details, contact details you give, any allergy note on the order, and your history with them (visits, spend, bookings, no-shows). Businesses see this in a customer list and can add their own notes and tags; those notes are theirs and you do not see them.

GUEST LISTS

Your name, party size, the note you add, and when you joined, arrived, were notified and were seated.

MESSAGES, FORMS AND TIPS

Messages you send them, your answers to their forms, polls and surveys, and, unless you tip privately, that you tipped.

VIEWING PARTIES

Who joined, how long each person stayed, the chat and poll results.

YOUR EMAIL, IF YOU SHARE IT

You can choose to share your email with a creator you follow, and stop at any time.

THEIR FULFILLMENT PARTNERS

Services a business connects to fulfill your order receive what they need: delivery couriers (name, phone, address, instructions); reservation systems such as OpenTable (name, email, phone, party size); shipping and print-on-demand services such as Shippo, Printful, Printify, Gelato or Prodigi (name, address, phone, email); online stores such as Shopify (order and stock details); and the business's point-of-sale or printer.

11

Service providers

These companies process information on our behalf, under contracts or terms that limit their use of it to providing their service to us:

SUPABASE

Database, file storage, realtime messaging and sign-in.

VERCEL

Website and server hosting; approximate location from IP address.

STRIPE

Payments, saved cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay on the web and in apps, refunds, fraud screening, and payouts to sellers and creators, including identity and tax checks.

MUX

Video and audio hosting, streaming, live ingest and playback quality analytics (Mux Data).

RESEND

Email delivery, including bounce and complaint reports.

SENTRY

Error and crash reports, configured not to collect IP addresses, cookies or request headers.

UPSTASH

Rate limiting and short-lived caches to stop abuse; sees identifiers such as an IP address or account id briefly.

GOOGLE

Google Analytics (section 7), Google Ad Manager on Roku where enabled (section 12), Google Wallet passes, Firebase Cloud Messaging for Android notifications, ML Kit barcode scanning on device, and YouTube for creators who connect a channel.

APPLE

ROKU

The Knect channel, Roku Pay purchases, and the Roku advertising framework.

MAPS AND GEOCODING

Mapbox, Photon and Geoapify turn addresses into map points; the address text you type is sent to them.

AI PROVIDERS

OpenAI and Anthropic (section 13).

GIPHY

GIF search; receives your search words.

AD VERIFICATION

DoubleVerify and Integral Ad Science, when an advertiser uses them (section 12).

12

Advertising and measurement

ON THE WEBSITE AND IN THE APPS

Knect sells ads and sponsorships and serves them itself; there is no third-party ad network or ad SDK in the website or apps. We choose ads by placement, by approximate area, by precise location if you allowed it, and, unless you turn it off, by your interest profile. We count impressions, viewability, clicks and purchases that follow an ad, so advertisers know their ads ran and worked. If you tap an ad, a click id can be matched to a later purchase. We give advertisers and sponsors aggregate results, not your name, email or account, unless you choose to send them your details (for example through their form). An advertiser may use an independent verification company (DoubleVerify or Integral Ad Science); when that ad plays, your browser, app or TV contacts that company directly, which receives your IP address and device information.

ON ROKU

Video ads on the TV run through the Roku advertising framework and, where enabled, Google Ad Manager. They receive your TV's advertising id (unless you turn on Limit Ad Tracking in Roku's settings), IP address and what is playing, and may use them to choose ads and limit frequency.

TARGETED ADVERTISING, SALE AND SHARING

We do not sell personal information for money. Under California law, "sharing" means disclosing personal information to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising; other states use "targeted advertising". We treat the following as sharing or targeted advertising, and let you opt out: (a) on Roku, the advertising id and viewing information received by Roku's ad framework and Google Ad Manager; (b) on the website, Google Analytics after you agree in the cookie banner, where Google may use the data for its own purposes; and (c) choosing ads on Knect using an interest profile built from your activity across Knect's different services. You can opt out at Your Privacy Choices, in Settings, with Global Privacy Control, and on Roku with Limit Ad Tracking.

13

AI features and AI assistants

Some features use AI models from OpenAI or Anthropic: search answers, map and resource finders, sentiment and survey summaries for staff, editorial drafting, and embeddings that power search. What you type into those features, and the public listings we match to it, is sent to the provider to produce an answer; the resource finder may also receive approximate coordinates and anything sensitive you choose to describe (such as housing, health or safety needs), so share only what you are comfortable with. These providers process it under business terms that prohibit using it to train their models. We log usage of these features.

You can connect an outside AI assistant to your account through our consent screen and choose what it may do (read the catalog and your profile; and, only if you allow it, make bookings and orders and pay with a saved card). We record each connection and its last use, and you can disconnect it in Settings at any time. The assistant's company handles what it receives under its own policy.

14

Other disclosures

LEGAL AND SAFETY

To comply with law, legal process or a lawful government request; to enforce our Terms; to protect the rights, property or safety of Knect, our users or the public; to report child exploitation to NCMEC; and to detect and prevent fraud.

WITH YOUR CONSENT OR AT YOUR DIRECTION

For example when you share content to another app, connect an integration or AI assistant, or ask us to send something to someone.

15

We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, and then delete or de-identify it. Typical periods:

INFORMATIONHOW LONG

BackupsOverwritten on their normal cycle, generally within 35 days.
16

Security and breaches

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, row-level access controls so each person can read only their own private data, hashing of device and advertising ids, encryption at rest of integration keys, rate limiting and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires. Keep your password private and tell us at once if you think your account was misused.

17

GLOBAL PRIVACY CONTROL

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising for that browser and, when you are signed in, for your account.

EMAIL AND PUSH

Unsubscribe from any marketing email with its link; turn off push in Settings or your device. Service messages continue while you have an account.

ROKU

YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on where you live (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Virginia), you may have the right, subject to exceptions in the law, to:

KNOW AND ACCESS

Confirm whether we process your personal information and get the categories and specific pieces we hold, the sources, purposes and categories of recipients, in a portable format.

CORRECT

Fix inaccurate personal information.

DELETE

Delete personal information we hold about you.

OPT OUT

Opt out of the sale of personal information, sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, targeted advertising, and profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects (we do not engage in such profiling).

LIMIT OR CONSENT TO SENSITIVE DATA

Limit our use of sensitive personal information, or, where required, have us process it only with your consent (section 18).

THIRD PARTIES LIST

In Minnesota and Oregon, get a list of the specific third parties (or, in Oregon, categories) to which we disclosed personal information.

NON-DISCRIMINATION

Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not charge different prices or give different service because you exercise them.

HOW TO MAKE A REQUEST

Use Your Privacy Choices or Settings, or email hello@getknect.app with the right you want to use. We verify requests by confirming them from the email on your account (and may ask for more information for sensitive requests) and respond within 45 days, extendable by 45 more where the law allows. You can use an authorized agent, who must provide your signed permission or a power of attorney; we may ask you to verify your identity directly. We will not use information you give to verify a request for anything else.

APPEALS

If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision or emailing hello@getknect.app with "Appeal" in the subject, within 60 days. We will respond in writing within the time your state requires (generally 45 to 60 days) and explain our reasons. If we deny the appeal, you can contact your state attorney general.

CALIFORNIA NOTICE AT COLLECTION AND CATEGORIES

In the past 12 months we collected the categories below, from the sources in sections 2 to 6, for the purposes in section 8, and kept them for the periods in section 15. We disclosed each for a business purpose to service providers and, at your direction, to the businesses, creators and organizers you deal with. We have not sold personal information. We "shared" only identifiers and internet activity, as section 12 describes.

Shine the Light: we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.

NEVADA

We do not sell covered information as Nevada law (NRS 603A) defines it. You may still email us to record an opt-out.

18

Sensitive and health information

Saved allergies, and allergy notes on orders, are consumer health data under laws such as Washington's My Health My Data Act and Nevada SB 370. We collect them only when you type them, use them only to prefill your orders and flag items, share them only with the business preparing that order (and our service providers), never sell them, and never use them for advertising. Our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explains this in full. In states that require consent to process sensitive data (such as Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and Texas), we ask for it when you save your allergies or allow precise location, and you can withdraw it in Settings.

19

Children

Knect is only for people 18 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13 as the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act defines it. If we learn that we have, we will delete it and close the account. If you believe a minor has given us information, email hello@getknect.app. A youth program run under a separate written agreement collects only what that agreement describes, with a parent's or guardian's consent.

20

United States only

Knect is offered only in the United States and operated from the United States, and we and our service providers store and process information in the United States. We do not offer the Service to people in other countries.

21

Changes and contact

We update this policy when our practices change. If a change is material, we will notify you in the Service or by email before it takes effect, and we will ask for your consent where the law requires it (for example before using information in a materially different way than we said when we collected it).
