Who qualifies
Tenants in LA County facing eviction. For the County's Right to Counsel program: you received an eviction notice (Unlawful Detainer), live in unincorporated LA County, and have household income at or under 80% of area median income. Other eligibility details are on the application page.
How to apply
Apply online at stayhousedla.org/get-legal-help as soon as you get an eviction notice, or call the Stay Housed LA hotline at 1-888-694-0040. You can also join a free workshop or legal clinic through the site.
What it is
Stay Housed LA gives free legal help to eligible tenants facing eviction, plus tenant-rights workshops and legal clinics. If you got an eviction court paper (an Unlawful Detainer), you usually have only 10 business days to respond, so act fast. You cannot be evicted because of your immigration status.
