Who qualifies
Low or no income with limited property, or receiving CalWORKs, General Relief or SSI/SSP. U.S. citizens, legal residents and certain immigrants qualify. Homeless applicants can use a District Office address.
How to apply
Apply online at BenefitsCal.com (fastest). Or call (866) 613-3777 to get a paper application mailed to you, or visit or drop off at a DPSS District Office. To ask for expedited (fast) CalFresh, call (866) 613-3777, press 2, then 2 again. At minimum you need your name, address and a signature.
What it is
The county office that approves CalFresh food benefits in Los Angeles County. You can apply online, by phone, by mail or in person. If your income is very low you may get benefits in as little as three days. If you don't qualify only because of immigration status, ask about the state-funded CFAP program.
