Who qualifies
Meals are open to the public, and the cooling and warming center welcomes everyone. Food boxes are for people facing food insecurity. Rapid Rehousing is for Riverside County residents. Shelter intake rules are not posted.
How to apply
For shelter, call the Emergency Shelter Annex intake line at 760-851-2160. Meals are 7 days a week: breakfast 6 AM, lunch 12 PM (sack lunch at the Annex), dinner 5 PM at 47-470 Van Buren St, Indio. Food boxes: Wednesdays from 8 AM until gone. The cooling center (June 1-Sept 1, 8 AM-2 PM) is at 84-110 Manila St, Indio.
What it is
The Rescue Mission in Indio runs an emergency shelter, a women and children's shelter, a seasonal cooling and warming center, and recovery programs. It serves three free meals a day to the public (over 900 meals daily) and gives out food boxes every Wednesday. Street outreach and Rapid Rehousing (rent help and case management) are also offered.
