Who qualifies
People 65+ on Medicare, people under 65 with a disability on Medicare, and people about to become eligible for Medicare. Community presentations are open to anyone.
How to apply
Call the Center for Health Care Rights at (800) 434-0222 or (213) 383-4519 for an appointment, or request HICAP through LA County at 1-800-510-2020.
What it is
HICAP gives free, confidential one-on-one counseling about Medicare, Medi-Cal and long-term care insurance. Counselors help you compare plans, enroll or disenroll, and handle claims, appeals and prescription drug coverage problems.
