§ THE SHORT VERSION
Kofi Abernathy is a sculptor based in Watts, Los Angeles, CA (a demo persona on Knect).
Kofi Abernathy grew up four blocks from the Watts Towers and builds in the same spirit: whatever the neighbourhood throws away, made to stand up and shine. A welder by trade, he works with rebar, car rims, salvaged security gates, broken tile and bottle glass collected on morning walks. His pieces are big enough to walk around and are usually finished with something growing out of them.
